Recall 21V150000 · manufacturer campaign DC-2103

Exterior Lighting › Headlights — Autocar · reported 9 Mar 2021 · 24 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2020 Legend vehicles. The headlight and windshield wiper wiring harness may become disconnected during operation. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment", and 104, "Windshield Wiping and Washing Systems."

The risk

A disconnected headlight and windshield wiper wiring harness can cause a sudden loss of headlight and windshield wiper function, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

The fix

Autocar will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the wiring harness routing, and repair or replace it as necessary, free of charge. Autocar issued owners an interim notification letter on May 6, 2021. The remedy is expected to be available February 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 24, 2022. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611 or 1-877-973-3486. Autocar's number for this recall is DC-2103.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
