What's wrong

Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles equipped with the camper upfit option. The Electronic Stability Control (ESP) software was not updated for vehicles with a higher center of gravity.

The risk

The ESP may not respond as intended during certain driving scenarios, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 2, 2021. Owners may contact DVUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267. DVUSA's number for this recall is VS3HOLAPLI.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
