Equipment Adaptive/mobility — Altec · reported 1 Jun 2021 · 1,977 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2005-2021 A65, A70, A75, A72-T, A77-T, and A82-T vehicles. The lower and upper boom raise spools can shift after releasing the joystick or control interlock.

The risk

Unintended movement of the lower and upper booms increases the risk of injury.

The fix

Altec will install a jumper hose and check valve into the boomtip tank lines and replace the overcenter blocking cartridge with an internally referenced drain path, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 28, 2021. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 823.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
