Recall 21V468000

Fuel System, Diesel › Fuel Injection System › Fuel Rail — Alexander Dennis · reported 23 Jun 2021 · 310 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Alexander Dennis, Inc. (Alexander Dennis) is recalling certain 2017-2020 E500 buses. The sealing washer may not seat correctly in the pilot bore holes, allowing the high pressure fuel rail assembly to leak.

The risk

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

The fix

Dealers will inspect the rail threads and fuel lines, and replace the rail as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 18, 2021. Owners may contact Alexander Dennis customer service at 1-951-244-9429.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
