Seat Belts › Critical Fasteners — Prevost · reported 28 Jun 2021 · 65 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Prevost Cars, Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain 2021-2022 X3-45 Commuter Coach buses. The passenger seats may have an attachment improperly clamped to the wall rail on the outboard side. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."
The risk
Unsecured seats may not properly restrain occupants during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The fix
Prevost will provide instructions to inspect and replace the seat belt clamp, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 31, 2021. Owners may contact Prevost's customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR SR21-308.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
