Fuel System, Gasoline › Storage › Tank Assembly — Mercedes-benz · reported 23 Jul 2021 · 3 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2019 G550 vehicles. The fuel tank may not have been welded properly during manufacturing, which could result in a fuel leak.

The risk

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of fire.

The fix

Dealers will replace the fuel tank, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 3, 2021. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
