Recall 21V576000

Fuel System, Diesel › Delivery › Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings — New Flyer · reported 28 Jul 2021 · 30 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

New Flyer of America, Inc. (New Flyer) is recalling certain 2021 XD40 and XD35 vehicles equipped with Cummins L9 Diesel engines that have remote Stage 2 fuel filters and pressurized hoses. A fuel leak may occur from the fuel hose between the fuel pump and the remote fuel filter head.

The risk

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

The fix

Cummins will replace the fuel hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 3, 2021. Owners may contact New Flyer's customer service at 1-204-224-6706.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
