Recall 21V580000

Fuel System, Diesel › Fuel Injection System › Fuel Rail — Sutphen · reported 29 Jul 2021 · 604 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Sutphen Corporation (Sutphen) is recalling certain 2017-2020 Fire Trucks. The sealing washer may not seat correctly in the pilot bore holes, allowing the high pressure fuel rail assembly to leak.

The risk

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

The fix

Dealers will inspect the rail threads and fuel lines for damage, and replace the rail as necessary, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification. Owners may contact Sutphen customer service at 1-614-889-1005.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
