Recall 21V628000
Equipment › Emergency › Fire Supression — Custom Fire · reported 10 Aug 2021 · 12 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Custom Fire Apparatus, Inc. is recalling certain 2009-2021 Spartan Gladiator, MetroStar, and MetroStarX emergency vehicles. The fire water pump solenoid may corrode internally, causing a loss of power to the pump control module.
The risk
A loss of power to the pump control module can cause a loss of water pressure for fighting fires, increasing the risk of injury.
The fix
Spartan Fire LLC will remove and replace the pump shift solenoid, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 12, 2021. Owners may contact Custom Fire's customer service at 1-715-294-2555.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
