What's wrong

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2011-2016 AT200A aerial devices. Cracks may develop in the legs of the mounting frame, which can cause the mounting frame side plate to break.

The risk

A broken side plate may result in pedestal and truck frame separation, increasing the risk of injury.

The fix

Altec will repair the side plates as necessary, or provide a repair kit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on October 13, 2021. Owners may contact Altec's customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 836.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
