Recall 21V740000

Equipment › Electrical — Demers Ambulances · reported 23 Sep 2021 · 9 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Braun Ambulances is recalling certain 2020 Demers Ambulances MXP153 Ford F-Series Gas, MXP153 Dodge Ram, and 2020-2021 MXP153 Ford F-Series Diesel emergency vehicles. The medical oxygen tube and electrical wires may become damaged due to insufficient clearance from the ceiling spacers.

The risk

Damage to the wires and medical oxygen tube increases the risk of a fire.

The fix

Dealers will remove the ceiling panels and spacers, replace wires and oxygen network tubing, and create a routing channel inside the insulation board for all wires, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed on October 6, 2021. Owners may contact Braun Ambulances' customer service at 1-877-344-9990.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
