Recall 21V791000 · manufacturer campaign Emission 21E01

Electrical System › Instrument Cluster/panel — Hme · reported 12 Oct 2021 · 8 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

HME, Inc. (HME) is recalling one 2014 Ford F-550 emergency vehicle. The on-board diagnostic system may not illuminate the malfunction indicator light (MIL) on the dashboard to alert the operator when certain faults are present in the vehicle's emissions control system.

The risk

The driver may be unaware of issues with the emissions system, which could result in a loss of drive power and increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will reprogram the PCM, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 20, 2022. Owners may contact HME's customer service at 1-616-534-1463.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
