Recall 21V830000 · manufacturer campaign 79-1432

Structure — Forest River · reported 22 Oct 2021 · 125 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2021-2022 XLR Toy Hauler recreational vehicles. The protective panel that separates the furnace and furnace components from the mid-deck cargo area is missing.

The risk

Cargo could contact the furnace wiring and other components, resulting in an electrical short and increasing the risk of a fire.

The fix

Dealers will install a felt-covered wall panel, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 1, 2021. Owners may contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-574-642-0432. Forest River's number for this recall is 79-1432.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
