Recall 22V145000 · manufacturer campaign 22S13

Steering › Critical Fasteners — Ford · reported 11 Mar 2022 · 72 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020-2022 F-59 vehicles. The bolt that secures the intermediate steering shaft to the steering gear box may be improperly tightened, which could result in separation of the intermediate steering shaft from the steering gear box.

The risk

Separation of the intermediate steering shaft from the steering gear box can result in the loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will inspect the intermediate shaft bolt, replacing it if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 1, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S13.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
