Recall 22V159000

Suspension › Critical Fasteners — Great Dane · reported 15 Mar 2022 · 1,261 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2022 Champion Dry Van and Everest Refrigerated trailers. The suspension radius rod mounting bolts were not properly tightened, which could allow the bolts to come loose and fall out.

The risk

Loose or missing bolts can cause the suspension to shift rearward, resulting in a loss of vehicle control. In addition, bolts that fall off can become a road hazard. Both of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will inspect and tighten the radius rod fasteners, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 20, 2022. Owners may contact Great Dane's customer service at 1-877-369-3493.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
