Recall 22V182000

Equipment › Mechanical › Boom/crane/ladder — Reading Truck · reported 24 Mar 2022 · 187 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Reading Truck Body, LLC (Reading) is recalling certain 2019-2021 Master Mechanic Crane Body & Upfit vehicles. The Power Take Off (PTO) Timer Delay Relay module is mounted under the hood instead of in the vehicle cab, subjecting it to moisture which can lead to corrosion and cause the module to overheat.

The risk

Overheating of the PTO Timer module increases the risk of a fire.

The fix

Dealers will inspect and replace the PTO Timer module, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 13, 2022. Owners may contact Reading's customer service at 1-610-775-3301.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
