Trailer Hitches — Keystone · reported 28 Mar 2022 · 1,155 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2022 Bullet, Outback, and Passport travel trailers. The coupler hitch may have been welded improperly, which can cause the trailer to separate from the tow vehicle.

The risk

Trailer separation from a tow vehicle can increase the risk of a crash or injury.

The fix

Dealers will inspect the welds, and replace the coupler if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 3, 2022. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 22-427.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
