Recall 22V345000

Wheels › Hub — Vanguard · reported 17 May 2022 · 2 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Vanguard National Trailer Corporation (Vanguard) is recalling two 2022 VIP 53 ft. trailers. The wheel hubs may have an insufficient amount of lubrication, which could cause the hub bearings to fail.

The risk

Hub bearing failure could cause the wheel hub assembly to detach, causing a loss of stability and control, or create a road hazard, and increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will inspect the wheel hubs and add the proper amount of lubricant as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 19, 2022. Owners may contact Vanguard's customer service at 1-219-253-2000.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
