Recall 22V468000 · manufacturer campaign FL-945

Parking Brake — Freightliner · reported 30 Jun 2022 · 17 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2022 Freightliner Cascadia vehicles. The electronic parking brake may not engage when the vehicle is keyed off, which may result in a vehicle rollaway. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 121, "Air Brake Systems," and 136, "Electronic Stability Control Systems on Heavy Vehicles."

The risk

A vehicle rollaway increases the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will install a fused harness overlay, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 9, 2023. Owners may contact DNTA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-945.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
