Recall 22V540000 · manufacturer campaign 22-094-PUS

Structure › Body — Micro Bird · reported 27 Jul 2022 · 127 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2021-2022 G5, MBII, and T-Series school buses. The inside panels under the windows may have been insufficiently attached. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 221, "School Bus Body Joint Strength."

The risk

Insufficiently attached panels may separate during a crash, increasing the risk of an injury.

The fix

Dealers will provide parts and instructions on how to correct the defect, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification. Owners may contact Micro Bird's customer service at 1-819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 22-094-PUS.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
