Electrical System › Wiring › Fuses And Circuit Breakers — Altec · reported 4 Aug 2022 · 594 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2017-2021 Altec AT200A, AT235, AT235P, AT237, AT37G, AT40G, AT41M, and CB5-132D-S aerial devices. A wire to the boom stow sensor may be routed over a sharp edge, which can expose the wire to metal and result in a blown ignition circuit fuse.

The risk

A blown fuse can cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Altec will install a relay, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 30, 2022. Owners may contact Altec's customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 3015.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
