Fuel System, Diesel › Storage › Tank Assembly — Kenworth · reported 4 Aug 2022 · 630 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Kenworth T680 tractor trailers. The mud flap may contact the fuel tank while the vehicle is in motion, creating wear on the fuel tank over time.

The risk

Excessive wear of the fuel tank may allow fuel to spill on the roadway, which can increase the risk of a crash or injury.

The fix

Dealers will inspect the fuel tank and install an anti-sail device to prevent the mud flap from contacting the fuel tank, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed February 1, 2023. Owners may contact Kenworth's customer service at 1-425-828-5888. Paccar's number for this recall is 22KWF.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
