Recall 22V586000 · manufacturer campaign 48-1541

Exterior Lighting › Tail Lights — Prime Time · reported 5 Aug 2022 · 22 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2021 Prime Time Tracer TRT26KSS travel trailers. The tail light may be located too close to the water heater exhaust, which can cause the tail light lens to melt and the light to become inoperative.

The risk

A distorted or inoperative tail light may reduce vehicle visibility and confuse other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will install a flush mount tail light, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 26, 2022. Owners may contact Forest River's customer service at 1-574-862-1025. Forest River's number for this recall is 48-1541.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
