Recall 22V613000 · manufacturer campaign CSN-3017
Equipment › Mechanical › Boom/crane/ladder — Altec · reported 10 Aug 2022 · 975 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2015-2022 DT65 and DT85 Aerial Devices. The weld between the base boom and the auger stow bracket could crack.
The risk
A cracked weld may allow the auger bracket to detach from the boom, increasing the risk of injury.
The fix
Altec will inspect and repair cracks found in the base boom, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 7, 2022. Owners may contact Altec's customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3017.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
