Engine — Indian · reported 23 Aug 2022 · 6,315 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Indian Motorcycle Company (Indian) is recalling certain 2019-2020 and 2022 FTR 1200, 2019-2020 FTR 1200 S, and 2020 FTR 1200 Rally motorcycles. The coolant junction may leak.

The risk

Hot coolant leaking on a rider can increase the risk of injury. Coolant leaking on the rear tire can increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will replace the coolant junction, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 28, 2022. Owners may contact Indian customer service at 1-877-204-3697. Indian's number for this recall is I-22-04.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
