Recall 22V696000

Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/trailer — Winnebago · reported 16 Sep 2022 · 6,540 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2019-2023 Winnebago Travato motorhomes. The retractable awning may extend unintentionally during transit.

The risk

An awning that extends during transit, may become a distraction or road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will install an on/off switch for the extend/retract awning function, and update firmware, free of charge. Owners notification letters were mailed October 19, 2022. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885. This recall is superseded by Winnebago recall 23V627.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
