Recall 22V739000 · manufacturer campaign R22CB-SB

Engine — Blue Bird · reported 5 Oct 2022 · 2,559 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Vision school buses equipped with a 7.3L gasoline engine. The transmission cable may not have sufficient clearance from the gasoline fuel supply line at the left rear corner of the engine, which can result in a fuel leak.

The risk

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

The fix

Dealers will inspect and reroute the transmission cable, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 9, 2023. Owners may contact Blue Bird's customer service at 1-478-822-2242. Blue Bird's number for this recall is R22CB (School Bus).

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
