Steering › Hydraulic Power Assist › Hose, Piping, And Connections — Micro Bird · reported 28 Oct 2022 · 99 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Corp. Micro Bird Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2019-2022 Micro Bird G5 school buses. An inadequate connection between the power steering pressure line and the brake Hydroboost unit may result in a sudden loss of power steering fluid.

The risk

A sudden loss of power steering fluid can result in a loss of power steering and power brake assist, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will inspect the connection between the power steering lines and the Hydroboost unit, and replace the power steering lines, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 22, 2022. Owners may contact Micro Bird customer service at 1-819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 22-097-PUS.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
