What's wrong

Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2023 FCCC MT50e vans. An insufficient connection in the battery pack may cause the battery management system to shut down unexpectedly.

The risk

An unexpected shut down can result in a sudden loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will replace the battery packs, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 14, 2023. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-960.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
