Recall 22V890000

Steering › Steering Wheel/handle Bar — Newmar · reported 2 Dec 2022 · 30 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Supreme Aire motorhomes. The cap screws under the steering wheel cover could loosen and cause the steering wheel to separate from the steering column.

The risk

Separation of the steering wheel could result in the inability to steer, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will install new steering wheel cap screws, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on December 30, 2022. Owners may contact Newmar's customer service at 1-800-731-8300.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
