Recall 23V057000

Equipment › Mechanical › Boom/crane/ladder — Maintainer · reported 7 Feb 2023 · 1,120 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Maintainer Corporation of Iowa, Inc. (Maintainer) is recalling certain 2019-2023 Maintainer Service Trucks with Hydraulic Telescopic Cranes. During crane operation, if power gets disconnected to the receiver on the Maintainer crane, the crane may continue to move without control of the user.

The risk

Losing control over the crane while it is moving may increase the risk of injury to the operator or those nearby.

The fix

Maintainer will install a software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning February 7, 2023. Owners may contact Maintainer customer service at 1-800-831-8588.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
