What's wrong

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2023 Transit vehicles. The fuel tank grade vent valve may not be properly welded to the fuel tank shell, which can result in a fuel leak.

The risk

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

The fix

Dealers will replace the fuel tank, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 28, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 23S04.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
