Recall 23V090000 · manufacturer campaign 22VDC0908
Service Brakes, Hydraulic › Pedals And Linkages — Nikola · reported 16 Feb 2023 · 137 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Nikola Corporation (Nikola) is recalling certain 2022 TRE BEV vehicles. The shaft locking screw on the brake pedal may be missing or may not be fully threaded, which can cause the brake pedal to detach.
The risk
A detached brake pedal can cause a loss of pedal function, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Dealers will repair or replace the brake pedal units as necessary, free of charge. All vehicles were inspected and repaired by November 1, 2022. Owners may contact Nikola customer service at 1-630-808-4531. Nikola's number for this recall is 22VDC0908.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
