Steering › Critical Fasteners — Terex Advance · reported 7 Mar 2023 · 20 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Terex Advance Mixer, Inc. (Terex) is recalling certain 2022 Front Discharge Mixer Commander vehicles. The front-drive steer axle fasteners may not have been tightened sufficiently and could come loose, resulting in a complete separation of the axle assembly joints.

The risk

Steer axle assembly separation can result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Meritor will inspect and repair the axle assembly joints, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 18, 2023. Owners may contact Terex customer service at 1-800-678-5961.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
