Electrical System › Integrated Trailer Brake Control — Forest River · reported 24 Mar 2023 · 12 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2023 Forest River Pause Travel trailers. The breakaway switch may be incorrectly wired and cause the battery to not charge, resulting in no power to the breakaway switch.

The risk

A breakaway switch that does not have power will not activate the trailer brakes, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will rewire the breakaway switch, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 3, 2023. Owners may contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-574-327-2681. Forest River's number for this recall is 426-1613.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
