Recall 23V219000

Steering › Critical Fasteners — Capacity · reported 30 Mar 2023 · 53 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Capacity of Texas is recalling certain 2020-2023 TJ5000 vehicles. The front-drive steer axle fasteners may loosen, resulting in a complete separation of the axle assembly joints.

The risk

Steer axle assembly separation can result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will inspect and replace the pro-torque nut keeper on the steer axle assembly, free of charge. The recall began May 10, 2023. Owners may contact Capacity of Texas customer service at 1-800-323-0135.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
