Recall 23V243000

Service Brakes, Air › Antilock › Control Unit/module — New Flyer · reported 5 Apr 2023 · 30 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

New Flyer of America, Inc. (New Flyer) is recalling certain 2023 XD60 and XDE60 60' articulated transit buses. The anti-lock brake system (ABS) module may lose power during hard braking, causing the ABS system to fail.

The risk

An ABS system that fails increases the risk of a crash.

The fix

New Flyer will update the ABS software and correct the wiring, free of charge. All vehicles have been repaired and therefore no owner letters will be sent. Owners may contact New Flyer customer service at 1-204-224-6706.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
