Recall 23V272000 · manufacturer campaign SR23-304

Seats › Critical Fasteners — Prevost · reported 17 Apr 2023 · 280 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Prevost Cars (US) Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain 2021-2023 X3-45 Commuter buses. The foldable passenger seat frames may have been improperly welded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

The risk

An improperly welded seat frame may not adequately restrain the passenger, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

The fix

Prevost will inspect and replace the seat frames as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 7, 2023. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR23-304.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
