Recall 23V361000 · manufacturer campaign R10216
Electrical System › 12v/24v/48v Battery — Polestar · reported 22 May 2023 · 66 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Polestar Automotive USA, Inc. (Polestar) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Polestar 1 vehicles. Defective high-voltage battery cells may cause the battery to overheat when fully charged.
The risk
The high-voltage battery overheating increases the risk of a fire.
The fix
Dealers will replace the high-voltage battery pack and restore the electric driving range as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 66, 2023. Owners may contact Polestar customer service at 1-800-806-2504. Polestar's number for this recall is R102316. Note: This recall supersedes Recall 22V-926 (R10216). Any vehicle that received the interim repair under Recall 22V-926 (R10202) will still need to have the remedy for 23V-361 (R10216) performed.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
