Recall 23V367000 · manufacturer campaign N232404441
Electrical System › Propulsion System › Traction Battery — Cadillac, GMC · reported 25 May 2023 · 33 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2022 GMC Hummer EV and 2023 Cadillac Lyriq vehicles. Certain connections within the high-voltage battery pack may be out of position or incorrectly welded, which can cause a loss of drive power.
The risk
A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.
The fix
Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the high-voltage battery pack, free of charge. Letters explaining the safety risk were sent to owners January 5, 2024. Owner notification letters were mailed June 6, 2023. Owners may contact GM's Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 and the EV Concierge number: 1-833-HUMMER-EV (1-833-486-6373). GM's number for this recall is N232404441.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
