Recall 23V383000 · manufacturer campaign B23002

Trailer Hitches — Wabash National · reported 30 May 2023 · 40 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Wabash National Corporation (Wabash) is recalling certain 2024 DVDBHPC and DVCVHPC dry van trailers. The king pin was not welded properly, which can result in the king pin detaching within the upper coupler.

The risk

Unintentional movement of a detached king pin may cause a loss of trailer control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will replace the upper coupler assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 18, 2023. Owners may contact Wabash customer service at 1-765-771-5404. Wabash National Corporation's number for this recall is B23002.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
