Suspension › Front › Springs › Leaf Spring Assembly › U-bolt, Leaf Spring To Axle — Hino · reported 29 Jun 2023 · 64 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Hino Motors Sales U.S.A., Inc. (Hino) is recalling certain 2023 NE7A, NJ7A, and NV7A vehicles. The front axle U-bolts that secure the front leaf spring assembly may be over-tightened, which can cause the U-bolts to break and detach.

The risk

Broken U-bolts can result in a loss of vehicle handling and control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will replace the front axle U-bolts and upper seats, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 31, 2023. Owners may contact Hino customer service at 1-248-699-9390. Hino's number for this recall is M0420.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
