Recall 23V492000
Tires › Pressure Monitoring And Regulating Systems — Kidron · reported 17 Jul 2023 · 147 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
ST Engineering Hackney, Inc. (STE Hackney) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Kidron refrigerated trailers equipped with Tire Pilot Plus tire pressure regulation systems (TPRS). All 8 tires may experience a loss of tire pressure while driving faster than 45 mph.
The risk
Tire pressure loss while driving can cause a loss of stability and control or tire tread separation, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
STE Hackney will work with equipment manufacturer to replace and reactivate the Tire Pilot Plus system controller, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 22, 2024. Owners may contact STE Hackney customer service at 1-252-946-6521.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
