Back Over Prevention › Display Function — Lucid · reported 27 Jul 2023 · 91 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Air vehicles with a software version between 2.015 and 2.0.50. The rearview camera image may fail to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

The risk

A rearview camera image that does not display while in reverse decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

The fix

Lucid has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 25, 2023. Owners may contact Lucid customer service at 1-888-995-8243. Lucid's number for this recall is SR-23-02-0.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
