Electrical System — Altec · reported 27 Jul 2023 · 535 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Aerial Devices (AT, TA, L44, L45, LR8, AA, AM, AN) and D series Digger Derricks (DH, DL, DM, DT). The power inverter that converts electrical DC power to AC power may have been installed without a circuit breaker to protect the AC output circuit.

The risk

Without a circuit breaker, the AC circuit may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

The fix

Altec will install a 20-amp circuit breaker in the AC circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 21, 2023. Owners may contact Altec's customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 3103.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
