Recall 23V600000 · manufacturer campaign SC0448

Exterior Lighting › Turn Signal — Mack · reported 25 Aug 2023 · 27,418 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2015-2023 GU and GR vehicles. The turn signals may be positioned incorrectly, reducing their visibility. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

The risk

Low turn signal visibility may not alert other drivers to a turning vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will add additional turn signal lighting, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 25, 2024. Owners may contact Mack's customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0448.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
