Power Train › Driveline › Driveshaft — Kenworth, Peterbilt · reported 5 Sep 2023 · 21 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2023 Kenworth K270, K370, and Peterbilt 220 trucks. The driveshafts can break under certain loading conditions.

The risk

A broken driveshaft can separate and cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will replace the driveshafts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 16, 2023. Owners may contact Kenworth's customer service at 1-425-828-5888 and Peterbilt's customer service at 1-940-591-4220. PACCAR's numbers for this recall are 23KWG and 23PBG.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
