Recall 23V694000 · manufacturer campaign 179
Structure › Body — Winnebago · reported 16 Oct 2023 · 6,237 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Era, View and Navion recreational vehicles. The retractable awning may extend unintentionally during transit.
The risk
An awning extending unintentionally during transit may become a distraction or road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Dealers will install a parking brake interlock module, and update the awning firmware, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 2, 2024. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6936 or 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago's number for this recall is 179. This recall supersedes and expands NHTSA recall 22V-695.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
