NHTSA safety recall

Recall 23V852000

Equipment › Other › Labels — Great Dane · reported 15 Dec 2023 · 25 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Great Dane Trailers, (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2023 Champion trailers. The VINs on the certification label may be incorrect. As such, these trailers fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."

The risk

An owner that references an incorrect VIN label may not recognize their trailer is involved in a safety recall, and may not have the recall remedy performed, which could increase the risk of injury, fire, or a crash.

The fix

Great Dane has mailed new certification decals, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 05, 2024. Owners may contact Great Dane customer service at 1-877-369-3493.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
