What's wrong

REV Ambulance Group Orlando, Inc. (REV) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Type I, III and IX vehicles. In the event of a short circuit or wiring failure, the firmware may fail to shut off the output pin, resulting in overloaded electrical circuits.

The risk

Overloaded electrical circuits can overheat, increasing the risk of fire.

The fix

Dealers will update the firmware, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 15, 2024. Owners may contact REV customer service at 1-855-661-9232.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
